A LIVELY ceilí to raise funds for the Kerry branch of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association was hailed a big hit at Fossa Community Centre.

Organisers, Elizabeth and Peggy Kelleher, who lost a brother to Motor Neurone, presented Christy Lehane Ambassador for IMNDA, with the proceeds of the occasion which totted up to impressive €2,150.

The presentation was made at the Killarney Heights Hotel and Christy said he was thrilled to receive the donation on behalf of the charity.

The proceeds will help finance specialist equipment and gain access to a specialist nurse to allow patients to stay at home with their families for as long as possible.

There are currently over 350 people living with MND in Ireland.
