A LIVELY ceilí held to generate funds for and raise awareness of the Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone generated an impressive €730 for the cause.

The cheque presentation at the Heights Hotel in Killarney was organised by Elizabeth and Peggy Kelleher on behalf of TJ Nelligan who organised the ceilí at An Riocht Athletic Club in Castleisland.

Kelleher family and Kerry Friends of Motor Neurone thanked TJ for his dedication to the cause, to all the dancers who turned up for the event and the generous people who could not attend but donated.

The charity also thanked the band, Ui Bhriain, with John and Martina playing exceptional music to ensure that everybody had a great evening.

Kerry has the highest number of Motor Neurone Disease patients per capita in the country but still the IMNDA generated 86 per cent of its of annual income through fundraising.
